Helping Residents Understand Law
June 28, 2023
Ms Liang, a resident of Qingyuan (a district in Ji'an, a city in East China's Jiangxi Province), is grateful for members of Meijie Mediation Group, who helped her resolve a dispute with one of her neighbors.
By examining results of the group's mediations, one may get a glimpse into the remarkable achievements of Ji'an Women's Federation in cultivating "legal mediators," who publicize information about laws and regulations, especially those pertaining to the protection of women and children's legal rights and interests, to help residents improve their understanding of the laws and regulations.
After attending training provided by the federation, many women volunteers and cadres with the women's federations (in various communities in Ji'an) have become "legal mediators," and they have devoted themselves to helping women and children protect their legal rights and interests, and to helping residents resolve disputes through mediation.
During the past several years, the federation has conducted more than 800 activities (in various regions in Ji'an), to publicize information about laws and regulations among employees of enterprises, residents of urban and rural communities, and among middle school and university students. The activities were intended to help participants improve their ability to protect their rights and interests.
